Aligning drums

Hi all,
I'm sure this is a daft question but I don't unerstand the answer and I've searched the forums without success (so it must be really daft, eh?)

The shop manual says to install the brake drums with the drum locating tang in line with the locating hole in the axle shaft.

There's even a photo but I still can't understand.

Can anyone enlighten me?
