I've found that almost without exception the late model Corvair has a fuel guage
that will read full with a true 14 gallons aboard. The guage also is linear in
its readings. The "E" mark will leave 4 gallons in reserve, with the 1/2 mark
having used 5 gallons.
Wish these modern cars were as predictable.
